Dzintaru dzelzsavots atrodas egļu mežā un iztek no pazemes smilšakmens slāņiem, kas satur dzelzi, tāpēc avota ūdenī ļoti labi redzamas oranžas krāsas dzelzs savienojumu nogulsnes un avota krastā pat dzelzs rūdas gabali.
Avots nosaukts tuvējo māju vārdā. Agrāk apkārtējo māju iedzīvotāji gājuši uz avotu pēc ūdens. Zināms, ka 20.gs.30.gados profesors Miķelsons pētījis dzelzsavotus pie Siguldas un secinājis, ka to ūdens lietošana uzturā uzlabo vielmaiņu un palīdz asinsradei.
Īsākais ceļš uz avotu (~300 m) ved cauri jaunaudzei, kas atrodas pie ceļa.
Slēpnis neatrodas tieši pie avota iztekas, bet nedaudz tālāk.
[EN] Dzintaru iron spring is located in spruce forest and water from underground sandstone layers containing iron, so the very visible orange iron compounds and even the source of iron ore.
