Welcome to the 12th Annual Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2015, a geocaching game placed by MiGO members in partnership with the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. In order to complete the series, you will need to find the special cache hidden in each of the 13 Metroparks.
For links to all of the caches in the series please Click Here. At each cache obtain a word or words for the word search puzzle found here These words can be found on the laminated card within the cache. The underlined words on the card can be entered on the word search puzzle form and circled within the word search puzzle.
You will also need to copy a code such as "B = 6". This code will help you record your progress and can be used to unveil the Bonus Cache Coordinates. The bonus cache will be launched on September 12, 2015. This is the same day as the Geocaching Event at Lake Erie Metropark. Watch the Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2015 Picnic Page for more details. Copy the code exactly. The code is to be placed in the appropriate locations in the brochure found here. That section of the brochure may be submitted for inclusion in the drawing for one of the 2016 Metroparks Annual Passes. When you have logged your finds of all 13 Geocaches you should enter the codes into the on-line form found HERE. You will then be E-mailed instructions as to how to submit your entry.
The theme for this year's series is TRAILS IN THE METROPARKS .
Our Metroparks have approximately 250 miles of various types of trails including hiking, biking, mountain biking, nature, ski, horse, and canoe. Many are maintained year round and some are seasonal. All, in one way or another, encourage us to get out and enjoy the outdoors! Each MGA2015 Geocache will contain a card discussing trails in that park.
The cache is located less than 30 feet from the trail so bushwhacking further than that is not necessary and is discouraged to reduce impact on the environment. Please park at the coordinates shown in the Waypoint table and start your walk at the Trailhead coordinates.
On to the puzzle:
Help me find my bike? I parked my car and took my bike off the bike rack. I decided to use the restroom before hitting the bike path. When I came out....my bike was gone. I figured maybe the bike went on to the path without me. I came to a short paved path, I turned right towards the metro park rules sign. When I got to the sign, I turned right. I continued along the paved path, twisting and turning, over a small ditch with a wooden fence on each side of path. I went past a bench on the left until I came to a spot to cross the road. Looking both ways, I continued along the bike path. I kept walking until I met a short, round, funny looking man, wearing a yellow raincoat and a orange hat. I asked him if he had seen my bike. He said nothing. He just stood there on the left side of the path. So, I continued along until I came to a place where I could sit and rest. After resting for a few, I pulled out my GPS and headed off at a heading of 186 degrees for 215 feet towards a tall soldier, standing with many of his younger friends, off to my right. I suddenly knew my bike would be resting there at the base of the tree. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE STAMPS OR THE INK PAD....THEY ARE NOT FOR TRADE
