Geocache Description:

Did you know that horses can sleep standing up? They have a special "stay apparatus" that allows them to remain standing while they are asleep. It's quite a fascinating system; for more, visit Horse Anatomy: Stay Apparatus . Horses do lie down while sleeping, if they feel secure, but it is not for more than a couple of hours at a time and they can be back on their feet incredibly fast if needed.

They will visibly dream, sometimes "running", "kicking", or even "eating" (especially Cloud) while lying down flat in sleep. They can also be so relaxed that passersby call the authorities, thinking the horse is dead. Theoretically, they shouldn't all lie down together, but our horses must feel comfortable here because they do this regularly. Yes, all of the photos are of River and Cloud... Gray horses change color as they age, and some of the photos are from when River was only one year old. Posted coordinates are a nice place to paddle, but are NOT the location of the cache container! This is not a park & grab but your hike will be easy on clear trails and it's a pleasant place to walk. Very little bushwacking is required. You could even do this cache from horseback as horses are welcome here! Parking a trailer would be the challenge. Dogs are also allowed.

Dawn to dusk caching only. Cache is not in a stone wall and should be snow friendly although deep snow may be challenging. Please gently squeeze the "camouflage" to get the container in and out (it will fit back together nicely if the sizes are squeezed). Coordinates averaged with a Garmin GPSr. Please sign the log(online finds without a corresponding physical log signature will be deleted)and rehide as found to prevent muggling. Don't forget to bring a pen! N41° 50. and W071° 43. are a given.
Hide hint and parking provided upon successful coordinate check.
