Cotswold Caching #3 - Thank you President Clinton Event Cache

Sunday 10th May 3pm – 5pm

The local Cotswold Caching group will be holding a meet ‘n’ greet event every couple of months throughout 2015. It will be held on the second Sunday of the month and each event will take place at a different location within the Cotswolds.

For this third event we welcome you to The Old Spot Inn in Dursley. This is an award winning real ale pub, including a past winner of the CAMRA national pub of the year award. See the pub’s website here.

The pub is located in the shadow of Stinchcombe Hill off the Cotwold Way. Being in Dursley town centre, there are plenty of places to park close by, two of which are shown in the waypoints section of this listing.

We will be in the upstairs meeting room, or, if the weather is fine, in the beer garden. Just ask the bar staff where we are. There will be plenty of opportunity for a good old chat, sample the excellent food and drink, and perhaps a few other things (if the event organizers sort themselves out in time!).

The establishment is open all day, and food is served until 4:00 pm. The landlord has asked us to indicate how many people will be eating, and we’d therefore ask you to let us know when posting your ‘Will attend’ log. For an idea of the menu, see here.

Well behaved children and dogs on leads are welcome, and although there is no childrens’ menu, they can adapt most of their dishes to suit smaller appetites.

Whilst the event starts at 3:00 pm, you may want to make a day of it in the area. Dursley and the surrounding area offers ample opportunity, with something for everyone.

At the last count, there were 300 caches within a five mile radius of the event coordinates, including plenty of enjoyable circuits, both long and short, a nearby multi which will take you on a quick tour of the town (if you haven't visited before), two D5 puzzles, some T4 trads, the very good ‘Big Cheese’ puzzle series, a 2002 multi and a couple of fun night caches.
