I was in Ridgeview Park today to find Map Reader's 'Sourwood Honey' cache and realized that GCF574 "RidgeviewRefugeRedoux" was no longer showing up on my app. Had it really been archived? I dug through my previous finds and discovered this one had been archived by the CO back in September of 2014, so I figured I'd run up to see if he'd come by to grab it. I knew roughly what to look for and found the container, still in great shape. Considering my options, I made the decision to revive this one. I figured at least this ammo can could go from being geo-litter to once again being an active geocache, providing a smiley to cachers for years to come.
My first inclination was to just leave it in the original hiding spot...but try as I might, I could not get my coordinate readings to meet the saturation requirements. I decided to move the cache to a new hiding spot, then I cleaned out some of the junk, repackaged most of the swag in a fresh baggie and put the original log book into a locking tab container. If you found the previous incarnation of this cache, you may still see your signature on this old logbook.
