Geocache Description:

This Cache:

On July 20,1969 Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, the first Americans to do so. They of course had some help with protective gear and a vehicle to shuttle them from command module to lunar surface. 4:18 p.m, Neil Armstrong's voice crackled from the speakers at NASA's Mission Control in Houston. He said simply, "the Eagle has landed." Remaining on the lunar surface for just under a day, 47.5 pounds (21.5 kg) of lunar material for return to Earth, and was one of those tests for uncured cheese?

Because of course there is a science but also the myths that preceded them, and of course children's stories and other interests...children of course susceptible to taking things literally: No dear, eagles don't really fly to the moon or live there it was just a name for a spaceship...like (ocean)ships being named after women...uhmm. No. Ships are not boys or girls...

Moving on, some precocious children read all manner of literary genres, sometimes inspiring fantastical imaginations of what if? What if THAT were real, or THIS really could happen: such as time/space warps in the continuum fabric...add this to the literal sense that things can take and presto! Such imagination sure is entertaining meldings of fantastical miscontruations.

This Series:

This cache is part of the SPACE 2081: A Geocaching Odyssey challenge.

This challenge contains one cache of each difficulty and terrain combination, plus a final cache which can be found only after finding all 81 caches that are part of the series. Each of those 81 caches will contain a code, which you will use as part of the puzzle to solve the FINAL CACHE.

All the members of the space team are actual cachers who are remaining anonymous for the moment. You can find more info on the series, as well as a complete list of released caches HERE. Please do not post hints or spoilers in your logs. Also, each cache must be signed by any individual cachers going for the final.

Good luck, may the force be with you, live long and prosper.
