Geocache Description:

Happy Pi Day!

March 14th, 2015

3-14-15

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world, and this year's celebration is considered the ultimate Pi Day, specifically on 3-14-15 at 9:26:53. Pi (the Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.141592653, a number that continues infinitely without repetition or pattern and which has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond the decimal point!

The infinite nature of Pi has made it a common memorization challenge; the current world record holder, Chao Lu, took 24 hours and 4 minutes to recite Pi from memory to 67,890 digits! The next time someone tells you geocaching is a strange hobby, refer them to Mr. Lu!

While we won't be together at 9:26:53, we're going to celebrate this momentous Pi Day nonetheless!

MasterCacherz and Waterlillimm invite you to join us for a casual geocaching get-together at the local Tim Horton's in honour of Pi Day, 3-14-15!

Life's a little hectic for all of us at the moment so this is no Halloween Haunt, but have no fear, we weren't about to pass up a good excuse to hold an event!

Come out and meet local cachers or catch up with anyone you haven't seen all winter! And of course, get your Pi Day event souvenir :)

Where- Tim Horton's, Highway 7, Perth (posted coordinates)

When- 4-5pm

We'll also be making new mystery caches for you to find on Pi Day so you can get your other souvenir!

The FTF’ers of those caches (if they attend the event) and prize winners at the event itself will win… what else? PIE!

Please log your will attends early! Tim's is often a busy spot so we can't guarantee a corner of the place to ourselves, but we'll all be there to grab a coffee and say hello :)

See you on Pi Day!

PS- We'll be reviving a local TB hotel in the Spring, so if you've got any TBs you'd like to drop off with us they'd be more than welcome :)
