The church of St. John the Evangelist is a building of stone in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, north aisle, south porch and a western tower with octagonal broach spire containing 5 bells
Stained glass windows are by Morris Co. from 1890.
An example of one of them is shown here
The west tower of the old church was blown down during a heavy gale on February 1st, 1869. The church, which was a modest aisleless structure of chiefly C13 date, was found to be in such a state of decay as to necessitate complete rebuilding.
It was entirely rebuilt by private subscription in 1870, at a cost of about £2,855, under the direction of Mr. Henry Woodyear, architect, of Guildford, Surrey
