Geocache Description:

Darren Peter Osborne aka Spindoc Bob

27 May 1971 – 23 January 2015

Darren Osborne or Spindoc Bob as he was known to the Caching Community played a large part in both ACT and NSW Caching. Sadly on the 23rd of January 2015 he lost his 2 year battle to Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Cancer. Darren leaves behind his beloved Renee and 2 boys Isaac and Noah.

A beautiful tribute was shown at the funeral which shows a bit of what made up his life for those who would like to watch it it is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPS9zyhTcz8&feature=youtu.be

Darren loved all things Science, Space and Caching, and was a founding member of the Geocaching NSW Committee and helped cachers around the world get a taste of caching in Australia through his regular podcasts that were both audio and video and proved to be very popular right around the world with a great number of cachers subscribing to the service.

Darren worked here at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex and later at the CSIRO and Questacon. Darren left the ACT for Sydney NSW to be with his true love Renee and worked at CSIRO and in later years for ABC Radio & Television.

This cache was placed as requested by his family and his best mate to honour all that he done for caching, there will soon be a sister cache placed in Sydney in the near future.

For those who are interested in hearing the Spindoc Bob podcasts they are available on iTunes or by searching geotalk on a Web browser.
