Geocache Description:

Head to an Event Cache or contact a caching buddy to find the puzzle Travel Bug. Open the puzzle and discover the coordinates for the third Time Crystal in your quest to help the Guardians of Time. This cache requires a bit of socialising and head-scratching before you can obtain the required symbol to access the Time Crystal Portal. The cache is not at the published coordinates. Please do not go there. Please do not attempt to visit this cache at night.

The Guardians of Time have a problem. A micro-fracture in the Canvas of Eternity has appeared. Time is slipping away, quite literally, and someone needs to enter the Time Crystal Portal (GC5M54B) to make repairs. But there is a problem. Nobody has accessed the Time Crystal Portal for centuries and its location has been forgotten. All that remains is a remote console to the portal in the Hall of Forever. It displays an array of meaningless symbols and all that the Guardians know is that when the correct six symbols are selected on the console then the location of the Time Crystal Portal will be revealed.

Many cycles ago, there was a man who knew all of the secrets of Time. However, he has long since gone to the great egg-timer in the sky, but apparently he fabricated six Time Crystals (each embossed with one of the symbols to activate the Time Crystal Portal) and securely deposited them in time-resistant boxes around the Herts-Beds border. Each powerful crystal can never be in close proximity with another for fear of disrupting the fragile time canvas even further. However, if a brave Time Scout was prepared to venture forth to discover the six symbols emblazoned on these crystals and returned in one piece to activate the Time Crystal Portal then all of humanity would be indebted to them for all eternity.

Fortunately, recent intelligence has revealed that Professor Zamen of the University of Flux, has gained knowledge of the location of the six Time Crystals. He will not give up this infomation easily, but has set a series of puzzles to lead any intrepid Time Scout who earnestly seeks the crystals to their hiding spot.

The Cache

Professor Zamen has devised a particularly devious puzzle to conceal the coordinates of the third Time Crystal. They are hidden inside a "puzzle container" that is registered as a geocaching Travel Bug. With a Tracking Number of TB6AJ7C, it travels from geocacher to geocacher, turning up at Event Caches to be moved on. It is never left in a physical geocache.

So all you have to do is: turn up at an event at the same time as the Travel Bug; solve the puzzle on site or take it home to muse over; open it up and read the coordinates of the geocache containing the Time Crystal; go visit the coordinates and obtain the elusive symbol for the Time Portal. Simple!

Congratulations to Pat & Roch' for the FTF!
