I recently visited this scenic little peninsula on Melton Lake and was appalled by the amount and variety of trash here. I came searching for the geocache, GC1GFYF, I left with an overwhelming desire to schedule a CITO. The plan is:
- Meet at 9am
- Pick up as much trash as we can in 30-60 minutes
- Catch up with caching friends or just meet some of the local geocachers that you've heard about but never had a chance to talk to
I will be bringing coffee and donuts as well as trash bags and hand sanitizer. I recommend everyone who comes wear sturdy footwear and good gloves, and bring any trash picking up tools that you like to use. If some people have rubber boots, we can even get some of the trash along the shore in the swampy sections! Afterwards if folks are interested we can go caching somewhere nearby, or maybe just go for a hike right next door in Haw Ridge park.
