Geocache Description:

This Wherigo cache plays out the classic fox-chicken-feed logic puzzle.

The puzzle is this: you have a fox, chicken and some feed which you need to take to market along Doncaster Drove.  As you approach Monks Brook though, you realise that you will only be able to transport one of them over at a time. However, if left alone, the fox will eat the chicken.  Likewise, the chicken will eat the feed… a real farmer’s dilemma!

You need to transport each item from the east side of the brook to the west ie. from Lakeside over towards Stoneham Lane. Walk in to a zone and pick up one of the items then cross the brook and drop it off in the other zone.  You can use the bridge or, for extra fun, wade across the ford in wellies . You need to think carefully about the order in which you do the transporting. If you choose incorrectly, there are consumption-based consequences and you will have to start again!

It's advisable to save the game after each drop off/pick up and again on completion.

If you successfully transport everything over to the west side, you will be given the co-ordinates for the geocache. As you approach the final GZ, a completion code to unlock the Wherigo should appear in your inventory (you may need to only use the first 15 alpha-numerics if it’s any longer... it's a bug in the WiG software). You need to sign the logbook of the physical cache in order to claim a find for it, but you may also wish to 'unlock' the cartridge with your unique completion code (just the first 15 alpha-numerics) on the Whereigo download page.

Waypoint averaging has been used to set the co-ordinates, but tree cover could be problematic, especially at certain times of the year. You are looking for a small clip-lock Systema in a camo bag (which should remain fixed in its current location). There are mementos in the cache to take away for the first three finders… please make sure you take the right one .

Depending on your logic skills and walking speed, this cartridge should take around 15 minutes to complete.

The Whereigo cartridge can be downloaded HERE.

Your best bet for free parking is in Lakeside Country Park (a waypoint is provided). There are some restrictions (see photo below - essentially to avoid commuters/jet-setters jamming the place up).

All credit and thanks go to those in the Whereigo community who make their cartridges ‘open source’, and to one in particular who developed the original version of this game. I would also like to thank 'RubyShoos' for setting a version (GC53KQA) in Kent which spurred me on to set this one up locally.
