Today's event takes us to the Washing Floors in Laxey. This is where the ore from the Great Laxey Mine was sorted or "dressed". For more information visit this link.
The water wheel you will see at this event is the Snaefell Mine waterwheel which has been restored by volunteers. It first turned in its current location in 2006 and was Christened "Lady Evelyn". For more information, see here.
Our event is from 10 to 10.30 am, leaving plenty of time to visit the Great Laxey Wheel, the Lady Isabella, afterwards if you wish and have the afternoon free for caching.
All attendees will be given a small Manx flag and we will attempt to create a triskelion, as featured on the Manx flag. We will then wave our flags and will be photographed from a vantage point overlooking the area.
There are 9 events during the week and all the details can be found here.
Also go to manxcachefest.com for details of travel and accommodation and lots of information about the Isle of Man and the week's events.
