Bónus PT The Doors - The end
Este PowerTrail leva a conhecer um recanto da Serra da Sicó, entre o Vale e Pombal, e homenagear a banda The Doors. Este PT percorrido a pé demora cerca de 3 horas.
O Vale é uma aldeia da freguesia de Vila Cã; está situada no sopé do maciço Jurássico da Serra de Sicó, uma aldeia de origem medieval, confirmada como a mais antiga e habitada do concelho de Pombal, uma aldeia de tradição e cultura.
Em 1527, consta nos registos com 17 vizinhos em conjunto com a aldeia de Arroteia e pertencia ao termo de Pombal, em 1721 já fazia parte da freguesia de Vila Cã.
Há a possibilidade de se encontrar nas encostas da aldeia vestígios arqueológicos, pré-romanos, romanos e medievais tais como: antas e algares (pias naturais nas rochas) para o gado beber aquando da época das pastagens.
Vila Cã é uma freguesia pertencente ao concelho de Pombal e distrito de Leiria, de cuja sede dista cerca de dez quilómetros. Fica situada na margem direita da ribeira de Valmar, afluente do Arunca e o seu orago é S. Bartolomeu.
Os The Doors foram uma banda icónica da segunda metade dos anos 60 e princípio dos anos 70 que mudou o panorama musical e cultural mundial. Jim Morrison (1943-1971) poeta cantor líder da banda, auto proclamado "Rei Lagarto", através da sua escrita que desafiou os conceitos sociais e espirituais da época, elevou rapidamente a banda a um patamar que, ainda nos dias de hoje, a torna uma das bandas de rock mais influentes da história da música mundial. Todos aqueles que gostam de viver no limite da existência e de colocar em dúvida todas as certezas sobre o conhecimento e o pensamento encontrarão em Jim Morrison uma referência para a liberdade conceptual do ser. Constituída ainda por Ray Manzarek (teclista, 1939-2013), John Densmore (baterista) e Robby Krieger (guitarrista), a banda que teve o seu início após um encontro entre Jim Morrison e Ray Manzarek em Vencice beach LA Califórnia, tem ainda hoje legiões de fans por todo o mundo.
Ouvir as músicas dos The Doors e prestar atenção às letras de Jim Morrison constitui um desafio à intelectualidade e um exercício mental sobre o conhecimento.
