Geocache Description:

One of a series of ten church micros placed in Chesham. Please note that you may wish to find the information for Chesham Broadway CM7083 before relocating towards GZ.

Please note the Information has changed and you may need to revisit the Church for new Information to work out the Location of the Cache (01/09/2019).
One of the four Bs for which Chesham is known is Baptist (along with beer, boots and brushes) . In fact Chesham has a long history of non conformism dating back to the Lollards and beyond.
The site of the present building - in The Broadway at the heart of Chesham town centre - has been a place of worship and a base for witness since 1724, but the roots of the congregation are believed to go back much further. The building was originally constructed for an Independent Congregation. When it was re-built in 1886 it was by a Congregational Church. In 1972 the congregation joined the United Reformed Church. The organ in the church dates from 1886 and is of historic note since it is the first use of tubular-pneumatic action by the organ builder: Forster & Andrews.

You might wish to drive closer to GZ (see note above) , there is parking nearby but not on the main road. Please be careful to replace the cache as found, it is in a small container.
