Sinfin Central Station - a fairly new development, built in 1976 to encourge people who worked at the nearby factory to use the train. Derby City Councils efforts to encourage commuter like usage of the trains similar to Birmingham.
Alas it was not to be, and the station closed - to trains in 1993, but a taxi service remained until 1998 (single fair £1.20 )
there is public access to the station and its location - access from Wimore Road along a twisty footpath with metal fencing either side
the platform is still in situ and is in excellent condition, and the old station sign has only recently been removed - the track here is still used to ship Fuel Oil in for the nearby business.
