Avant la Révolution, Soulanger n'était qu'un hameau dépendant de Doué. En 1790, Soulanger comptait 950 habitants, la plupart logeaient en caves, les mariages, naissances et sépultures étaient enregistrés à Doué.
L'église actuelle, n'existe que depuis le Concordat (accord entre Rome et Napoléon pour sortir de la Révolution). C'est une grange aménagée, accolée au clocher construit en 1811.
L'autel et la croix ont été donnés et fabriqués à partir de matériaux donnés par les habitants de Soulanger. Il y a une dizaine d'années, grâce à l'apport de l'Association d'Education Populaire de Soulanger, l'intérieur de l'église a subi une réfection totale, ce qui lui donne un caractère chaleureux.
Aujourd'hui, l'église de Soulanger est l'église la plus sollicitée pour la paroisse après celle de Doué St Pierre. En effet les jeunes, les enfants s'y retrouvent pour des célébrations plus particulières. Beaucoup de baptêmes y sont célébrés, des conférences et formations peuvent y être organisées.
L'espace ainsi aménagé permet une meilleure convivialité sans nuire à la visibilité.

Before the Revolution, Soulanger was a hamlet dependent on Doué. In 1790, Soulanger had 950 inhabitants, most lived in caves; weddings, births and burials were registered in Doué.
The present church, has only existed since the Concordat (agreement between Rome and Napoleon out of the Revolution). It is a converted barn, adjoining the tower built in 1811.
The altar and the cross were given and made from materials donated by the people of Soulanger. About a decade ago, thanks to the contribution of l'Association d'Education Populaire de Soulanger (Popular Education Association of Soulanger), the inside of the church has undergone a total refurbishment, giving it warmth.
Today, the church of Soulanger is the most solicited for the parish after Doué St Pierre. Indeed, young people, children gather there for more particular celebrations. Many baptisms are celebrated, conferences and training courses can be organized there.
The equipped space allows better conviviality without compromising visibility.
