Sat in the pub after the Hallowe'en Mega weekend with Sharant we came up with the idea of holding monthly Staffordshire Cachers meets, called SOS (Stoke or Stafford), with each one having a theme about an aspect of caching people may want to find out more about. I'd had the idea a while ago about holding an event to look at puzzle caches, and it was after voicing this that the idea started to take shape.
January is to see the inaugural event, held at the Cherry Tree pub on the A34 in Newcastle under Lyme. We have a section reserved under my name, from 7pm, and I've gone for the food area so people can eat, and also bring along Geokids, as it's a very family friendly pub.
The theme for this first SOS meet is puzzle caches, something I struggle with, and where the idea stemmed from. The pub has WiFi, so feel free to bring along a phone / tablet / laptop so you can access the cache pages. The event isn't to give you the answers to puzzles, but to help you to find out how to solve them, and also how to set a great puzzle cache.
I've given the event a 4* difficulty rating as I hope it will serve to tax your brains a bit!
I look forward to seeing you there!
