Bungay Staithe Traditional Geocache

 Bungay Staithe, an area that brought considerable trading wealth to Bungay until navigation ceased in 1934. Improvements by the Broads Authority makes this location an ideal area for recreation such as picnics, Dog Walking and Kayaking. Please Be careful with children as this cache is near water

Bungay Staithe is a hidden Gem on the River Waveney. It is home to the local canoe club and Bungay Sea Scouts.

There are two portage points at Bungay Staithe one will take you up River and is called the Bungay Loop the other portage point will take you down River to Wainford, Ellingham, Gelderston, Beccles and Beyond.

I find this area very peaceful and have seen Kingfishers on numerous occasions. If you walk across the weir this will take you through Falcon Meadow and on to Bridge Street.
