Geocache Description:

This is yet another fun geocache on the official Houma Travel GeoTour. Travel less than an hour southwest of New Orleans and enter Louisiana’s Bayou Country – Houma!

Bordered by the bountiful Gulf of Mexico, surrounded by bayous and shaded by an endless canopy of moss-draped cypress trees. In Houma, you will find a rich and rare blend of nature that allows for an unimaginable mix of wildlife, found only in a few places on earth. Download your passport to keep track of your progress.

Locate 20 or more caches to earn this geocoin (while supplies last).

Enjoy these beautiful locations and look for a medium size container hidden near the art museum. Don't forget to grab the game code! Bring a pen to log your find.

More than 100 concrete sculptures are located on the narrow, bayou-side property.  The sculptures profounds a mixture of Biblical references, rich Cajun colors, and the evident of pain and struggles within the artist's life.  A walk through this sculpture environment is an emotional experience, evoking a sense of deep spirituality and personal emotion.  Little is known about the artist Kenny Hill except that he was a bricklayer by trade and was born around 1950.  In 1988, Hill settled on the property and pitched a tent as his home.  Over time, he built a small rustic house on the property and began his transformation in 1990. He created a fantastic chronicle of the world through his eyes with his art.  After his departure, the garden became a part of the Nicholls State University Art Department.  In addition to the garden, Nicholls Art Department has a museum with various art works from local artists.  This beautiful garden was voted as one of the top ten gardens in the world.

Please seal the container tightly and return to it's original location.
