Church Micro 7575...Rothwell St Mary Magdalene


Now into Rothwell . Refreshments are nearby and toilets in the  pub.

Hope you enjoy this village section before you emerge into the lonely Wolds ahead.

 

The church of St Mary or St Mary Magdalene, which was enlarged and restored in 1849, has a Saxon tower in original condition and traces of good 12th century architecture. The church was in normal use in 1962. Stained glass in this church dates to the 14th-15th centuries. A late 11th century parish church, which was altered in the 12th century and restored 1892 by J. D. Sedding.
