I was listening to the Norfolk, VA police on this cool app on my phone the other night. It was quite interesting hearing everything that was going on. I took some notes after it was all over and it went something like this:
dispatcher: Unit 10, are you available for a disturbance at 44th and main?
unit 10: affirmative, in route from 54th and maple.
unit 11; I'll be out at the Axiom station for gas and a wash.
dispatcher: 10-4, 11
dispatcher: unit 12 please respond to a person overboard in the marina.
unit 12: 10-4, in route from 99th and pine.
dispatcher: unit 14. there is a fire alarm at 562 Oak Street.
unit 14: on my way from 93rd and walnut.
unit 15: I just spotted a person with a gun going into the daycare center on Birch, I'm going in to check it out.dispatcher: 10-4, 15. 11, are you able to back up 15?
unit 11: I'm on my way from 31st and Ash.
unit 16: I can't get my squad started, could you dispatch a mechanic?
dispatcher: will do, 16.
unit 17: I just heard a call from a Virginia Beach police officer who needs help and I'm close, so I'm going over there.
dispatcher: affirmative 17.
I never did figure out what was going on in Virginia Beach. I had to get to bed. I hope you can figure out what is going on.
