Geocache Description:

This is a short offset multi that takes you to St Johns Church Hedge End,  www.stjohns-hedgeend.org.uk. Parking is readily available.

The coordinates at the top of the page should take you to gates at the front of the church. From here you will need to enter the church grounds to gather the following information to find the nearby cache. There is no need to enter the church building to obtain any of the clues.

(a) From where you are standing information relating to Ray Ross should be very close to you. He lived from 1A-2-50 until B-11-96.

(b) Enter the churchyard and on your immediate right how many gravestones with crosses on them do you see lined up in a row, multiplied by two = H

(c) Number of clock faces on the tower = K

(d) Look for the large Underhill Centre sign near the church car park and make a note of the number of decades James and Mary Pace were married to each other. Walk around the outside of the church building and count the total number of carved stone human looking heads you can see. Heads minus decades = FG. Don't forget to look up!

(e) At the north end of the church you will find the original foundation stone in month, day, year format. D = month, E = day.

(f) Overlooking the Wildlife area & Peace Garden towards the rear of the church is a bench dedicated to Vernon Eric Nash, 30.J0.1924 - 22.0C.2002

The cache is a short walk away  at  : N 50 AB.CDE    W 001 FG.HJK. You are looking for a small container with logbook and pencil.

“If anybody would like to expand  this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
