A Praça do Futebol foi inaugurada pela prefeitura de Guarulhos em Junho de 2014, pouco antes do início da Copa do Mundo da FIFA realizada no Brasil em 2014.
No local encontram-se 5 esculturas de aço inox, de autoria do escultor Gilmar Pinna. A maior delas é intitulada "Cavaleiro Fiel", com 30m de altura e 200 toneladas. Essa escultura foi idealizada pelo escultor para ser instalada na frente da Arena do Corinthians, onde aconteceu a abertura da Copa do Mundo, mas por falta de um local para instalar a escultura, por não estar previsto no projeto, a escultura foi então colocada nessa praça, junto com outras 4 esculturas de bustos de jogadores de futebol.
Não recomendo visitar o local à noite.
Atenção: Não estacione na Rodovia para acessar a praça. Estacione no ponto indicado, que fica na rua ao lado da praça.

The "Praça do Futebol" (Soccer Square) was inaugurated by the city of Guarulhos in June 2014, just before the start of the FIFA World Cup held in Brazil in 2014.
Onsite are five stainless steel sculptures of the sculptor Gilmar Pinna. The biggest one is titled "Cavaleiro Fiel", with 30m high and 200 tons. This sculpture was designed by sculptor to be installed in front of the Arena Corinthians, which took place the opening of the World Cup, but for lack of a place to install the sculpture, not envisaged by the project, the sculpture was then placed on the square along with four other sculptures busts of football players.
