I just finished perusing the new Common Core State Standards for 2nd grade and was really surprised to see that cryptanalysis was included. In fact, Keb's homework assignment this week was to create an AMSCO cipher using the mother tongue of his birthplace, the Philippines. I hope his teacher can read it.
