The cache is in an ammo box. It contains several hardcover books. The terrains rates a 3.5 due to the potentially swampy and muddy trail to get to the cache, the last 50 to 100 feet are bushwhacin' it - plus cache location has many pointy branches. Please wear your camp clothes! Parking for the Reffitt Trail is at Pine St. off of 4 mile rd. . The cache is 50 to 80 feet off of the trail. Please be careful of the many dead branches protecting the treasure!
For a really adventurous day, bike in using the T.A.R.T. trail, and hide your bike just inside of the Reffitt Trail (no bikes allowed on trail). The cache is approximately half a mile back using the old 3 Mile rd. entrance, although they took the bridge down to go over Mitchell Creek so plan wisely.
You can also come straight back from the Traverse City State Park, but you will be buskwacking most of the way.
