Nicht nur kulturell ist die Metropole am Puls der Zeit. Auch in wirtschaftlicher und politischer Hinsicht liegt sie an der Lebensader der westlichen Welt. Dies nicht nur sprichwörtlich sondern sogar buchstäblich. Das auch hier strömende Erdgas ist erst jüngst einmal mehr in den Blickpunkt der Öffentlichkeit gerückt, als die Versorgung aufgrund politischer Turbulenzen zu erliegen drohte. Die politische Stärke Wladimir Putins steht in direktem Zusammenhang mit der russischen Vormachtstellung in der Erdgasproduktion. Europa zittert, dass Russland das Erdgas in den Pipelines versiegen lassen könnte. Doch die wahre Macht über die Erdgasversorgung (und somit letztlich auch die westliche Wirtschaft und politische Ordnung) liegt an ganz anderer, unvermuteter Stelle. Unscheinbar sind die wenigen über die Erdoberfläche ragenden, unverzichtbaren Fazilitäten der Erdgasversorgung. Ihre strategische Bedeutung ist jener der Metropole würdig.

This metropolis is in touch with the times, literally located at the western world's lifeline not only culturally, but also economically and politically. The natural gas flowing here was again brought to the focus of public attention lately, when political turmoil endangered gas supply. Vladimir Putin's political power is directly based on Russia's market power concerning natural gas. Europe fears the empty pipelines and the lack of Russian natural gas. But the real center of natural gas supplies (and thus the center of western economy and polity) is located somewhere else, at an unexpected location. The few, yet necessary facilities of natural gas supply to be seen above the surface might seem inconspicuous, but their strategic significance matches the metropolis' power.
The cache is located between the Metropolitan Energy Hub and the road. You don't have to pass through the facilities or the road to grab the container. You might park your vehicle at the designated coordinates. Please, bring your own pencil. Have fun!
