Please do NOT place travel bugs in this cache. It is not a
geocacher-only cache and it is open to logging by all people.
Travel bugs may not remain in this cache
The geocache is located in the bottom of Grand Canyon National
Park. The cache box is a large wooden box with a hinged lid. It
contains a large logbook and several pens and pencils, which are
the only "goodies" in the box. If you want to take a pen or pencil,
please make sure you leave a BETTER pen or pencil in it's place.
Also sign the log book and refer to the geocaching web site.
You can hike to this geocache, but do NOT, I repeat, do NOT try
to do the round trip in one day, especially in the summer.
Temperatures here in the summer can be over 110°F. If you're going
to make it an overnight backpack, make sure to get the proper
permits from the Backcountry Reservation Office up to 4 months in
advance. Also, make sure you are well equipped with good hiking
boots, appropriate clothing, food, and at least 1 gallon of water
per person. If you're approaching via a river rafting trip, the
cache is located near the river and is a short hike up a maintained
trail.
This geocache is not hidden. It is in plain sight and is open to
all visitors, not just geocachers. If you visit this geocache as a
result of this web page, please log your visit here.
The overall difficulty is 1 since the cache is not hidden. The
terrain difficulty is 4.5 if you hike in and 1.5 if you come in via
raft.
One other note: Since this area has numerous Kodak locations,
and you most likely will have a camera with you, photos of your
hike are most eagerly welcome.
