The Church of St Agnes is believed to have been built as a chapel of ease in about 1482, on the foundation of what is possibly an ancient Celtic church.
In 1848 the chapel was mainly demolished and rebuilt in it's present form, but the tower is from the original church and in 1905 the spire was rebuilt. It is a Grade II listed building.
On the southwest side of the church by the churchyard gate is the remains of a granite wayside cross from the Middle Ages. The stone is the remains of a lych stone used for holding coffins, the head of the stone is incomplete; both part of one side of the head and the uppermost part of the head having been cut off
