The Lunch Stop Motel (Canterbury) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

MandMCachers: A typhoon hit this area and the motel was trashed. The outside structure of the building was able to be saved but a butterfly and the deer all escaped.... sigh.

However the insurance has come through and after long real estate negotiations a new site has been secured and the Second Lunch Stop TB Motel should be opening soon.

We understand that this site has already been re-leased and there will be a new entertainment centre opening here too.

Geocache Description:

With all the scrambling for caches going on in the South Eyre / Oxford area we decided it was time for a Motel to be built for all the tired travel bugs and geocoins to find a comfortable resting place to spend a short time before continuing their Geocaching adventures around the world.
In the attached restaurant we offer a healthy range of food and snacks - if you can fit any in, after gorging on lollies along the route.

No reservations are required and being a country inn, we always have rooms available. Everyone welcome, more the merrier!
However if you are checking guests in or out, please make sure that you register them at the reception desk.
If you are only dropping in to visit, checking out the facilities or having a spot of lunch, feel free to sign our visitors book and tell us about your journey on your friendly www.geocaching.com trip adviser.

M&M's   LoLLY   ScRaMbLe
A weekend drive in the country led to the idea of a trail here and the theme was inspired by The Lolly Bag Loop caches by Too Dogs in NSW Australia, who have created a loop of favourite lollies from childhood.
A Lolly Scramble is a common Kiwi and Australian phrase which refers to the act where a mixture of lollies (candies) are scattered and children scramble to get their share. We think we’ve put out a good selection of favourites and are sure you’ll find something you like in M&M's lolly scramble.
