I stopped at the M4 motorway overbridge the other day while out for a walk and started counting cars. Unusually, the motorway was quite empty, however, in the distance I saw a convoy of fifteen new cars heading towards me. As each one went under the bridge, I noted down their details in sequence as they whizzed by. Fifteen cars later, I realised that there may have been a message conveyed by this convoy. I decoded the details and this gave me a set of digits which looked very much like a set of coordinates.
The first seven cars originated from the following locations:
- Leeds
- Norwich
- Birmingham
- Preston
- Glasgow
- Lincoln
- Manchester
There was a gap before the next traunch of motors, the first two of which seemed not to fit in to the same pattern as the other in the sequence as they both came from Jersey. After that, the cars were listed as from:
- Luton
- Peterborough
- Maidstone
- Reading
- Cardiff
- and the last one, Nottingham.
Plugging in the coordinates into my GPS receiver, I headed to the location where the coordinates suggested (it wasn't too far) but unfortunately I found nothing there. With no other caches in the nearby immediate vicinity I felt that there ought to be one here. Thus, to commemorate the abolition of the tax disc, I have created this mystery cache, particularly as many of my recent finds have been based on puzzles.
