Le chêne creux de Julien Minier

L'arbre creux est visible au Clos Minier

Julien-François Minier, né à Rochefort en Terre en 1757, est nommé vicaire à Limerzel en 1787. Prêtre réfractaire en 1790, il refuse de prêter serment et de s’exiler en Espagne. Il choisit de rester caché dans la commune et de continuer à exercer son ministère clandestinement. En pleine terreur, pourchassé par les Bleus, il fait de ce chêne creux un refuge. Il est arrêté à Pluherlin le 6 janvier 1794, rapidement jugé à Lorient où il est exécuté sur l’échafaud, cinq jours plus tard. Un tableau représentant son éxécution est visible dans l’église.
