Be aware: This cache is placed on Dartmoor and is a distance from the road in a location that is prone to heavy going and has areas of bog (Hence the high Terrain Rating). Take due precautions when attempting this cache, avoid extreme weather, dress and prepare accordingly. This cache is NOT within the MOD Firing Range, which starts 2km to the Northwest.
This cache is placed a short distance downstream of the source of the North Teign river, before it joins the South Teign River at Leigh Bridge. Already, the river is too wide to jump and has been for some miles, but look around and note the bowl shape of the Northern and Western hills which supply and contribute to the many tributaries which combine in a short distance to make the river Teign.
