Geocache Description:

St. Andrew’s Church, Leasingham dates back to Norman times.

The windows on either side of the belfry are from the 13th century, and the broach spire is Early English. The four bells were installed in 1617, but in 1980 it was declared unsafe to ring them.

The 13th century base of the font had a new bowl  fitted in the 15th or 16th century.

The church had major restoration in 1863, and a pulpit carved from Ancaster stone in 1871.

The weather vane was added to the spire in 1909. In 2008 an earthquake caused damage to the spire and the weather vane was removed and re-gilded when the repairs were carried out. The village children revived an old custom and danced round the cockerel before it was replaced
