The Sheppey Light Railway began or ended here in Leysdown. It is now a car park and surrounded by the arcades and tourist features that you see. The car park occupys the footprint of the station and sidings here. At the official opening of the line, 160 guests arrived at Sheerness East to ride down to Leysdown. The journey from Queensborough was 35 minutes, and trains stopped here at Leysdown for twenty minuts before making the return journey at the time the two halts were not in existence yet, but the trains stopped at all other stations on the way.
