Zethau Kirche
The church in Zethau is located on a hill above the main road. The location has its purpose – it was easier to hear the bells ringing even in a distant place. It is believed that the oldest bells were made in 15th century, so the church itself is older.
However, the location on the hill brought many lightning strikes and the church was destroyed after two storms in the 17th century. The new church was built in the first third of 18th century in the pure Baroque style, and in 1736 the church was consecrated. It was named „Elisabethkirche - Kirche zur heiligen Ruhe Gottes“ („Elisabeth Church – Church of the Holy rest of God“), after the patron Elisabeth von Schoenberg who also donated various indoor facilities to the church.
In the 18th century, the church was renovated and the lightning rods were installed. The three new church bells were also placed there. Sadly, the material from the bells served for war purposes a few years later.
Interesting facts about the church: the tower is 37 m high and the church measures 27 m in length. The capacity of the church is about 480 people.
The organs in the Zethauer church was completed in 1788 by the organ builder Adam Gottfried Oehme.
Oehme was born in 1719 and consequently, he learnt the profession by the organ builder Gottfried Silbermann. After Silbermann´s death, Oehme led the workshop on his own. Building the Zethauer organs, the lack of material could not meet the deadline, and also the inflation caused additional costs. Oehme asked for the additional payment but he was granted only one third of it. When he died one year later in Freiberg, he was a poor man. So, the Zethauer organ has a sad distinction of being the end of the Silbermann´s workshop.

Dieses traditionelle Cache ist mit der schönen Kirche in der Stadt Zethau, dem Erzgebirge gewidmet. Es ist ein Teil der "Grune_Schule" Geocaching serie.

Zethau Kirche liegt auf einem Hügel oberhalb der Hauptstraße entfernt. Die Lage hat seinen Zweck - es war einfacher, die Glocken läuten auch in einem weit entfernten Ort zu hören. Es wird angenommen, dass die ältesten Glocken wurden im 15. Jahrhundert vorgenommen, so dass die Kirche selbst älter ist.
Allerdings ist die Lage auf dem Hügel brachte viele Blitzeinschläge und die Kirche wurde nach zwei Stürme im 17. Jahrhundert zerstört. Die neue Kirche wurde im ersten Drittel des 18. Jahrhunderts in der reinen Barockstil erbaut und im Jahre 1736 wurde die Kirche geweiht. Es erhielt den Namen "Elisabethkirche - Kirche zur Heiligen Ruhe Gottes" ("Elisabeth-Kirche - Kirche der Heiligen Ruhe Gottes"), nach dem Schutz Elisabeth von Schönberg, der auch gespendet verschiedene Einrichtungen im Inneren der Kirche.
Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde die Kirche renoviert und die Blitzableiter installiert wurden. Die drei neuen Kirchenglocken wurden auch dort platziert. Leider ist das Material von den Glocken für Kriegszwecke diente ein paar Jahre später.
Wissenswertes über die Kirche: Der Turm ist 37 m hoch und die Kirche Maßnahmen 27 m in der Länge. Die Kapazität der Kirche ist etwa 480 Menschen.
Die Organe in der Zethauer Kirche wurde im Jahre 1788 durch den Orgelbauer Gottfried Adam Oehme abgeschlossen.
Oehme wurde 1719 geboren und somit lernte er den Beruf des Orgelbauers Gottfried Silbermann. Nach Silbermann's Tod, führte Oehme die Werkstatt auf eigenen Füßen. Gebäude der Zethauer Organe, könnte der Mangel an Material Termin nicht einhalten, und auch die Inflation verursacht zusätzliche Kosten. Oehme bat um die zusätzliche Zahlung, aber er war nur ein Drittel der sie erteilt. Als er ein Jahr später starb in Freiberg, war er ein armer Mann. So hat der Zethauer Orgel eine traurige Auszeichnung, der Ende des Silbermann's Werkstatt.

Kostel v Zethau se nachází na vyvýšeném místě nedaleko od hlavní silnice procházející městěm. Ne náhodou je umístěn na kopci - v minulosti měla jeho poloha specifický účel - zvony na kostele byly lépe slyšet, a to i do vzdálených a odlehlých míst. Předpokládá se, že nejstarší zvony byly vyrobeny v 15. století, kostel sám je pak staršího data.
Poloha na kopci nepřinášela jen samé výhody - kostelní věž mnohokrát přilákala blesky a nejednou chrám po jeho úderu vyhořel (17. století). Nový kostel v barokním stylu byl vystavěn na stejném místě v 18. století a vysvěcení proběhlo v roce 1736. Chrám byl pojmenován Elisabethkirche (Kirche zur heiligen Ruhe Gottes) na znamení Elisabeth von Schoenberg, patronky, která darovala kostelu mnohé vybavení.
Při rekonstrukci v 18. století byly osazeny tři nové zvony a také bleskosvody. Nedlouho poté však zvony posloužily válečným účelům.
Vybrané parametry kostela: Věž kostela měří 37 m, loď kostela je dlouhá 27 m. Kapacita kostela čítá 480 věřících. Kolem kostela se nachází hřbitov.
Varhany v Zethau byly vyrobeny Adamem Gottfriedem Oehmem, místním varhanním mistrem, v roce 1788. Oehme se narodil roku 1719 a vyučil se u varhanního mistra Gottfrieda Silbermanna. Po učitelově smrti převzal Oehme jeho řemeslo. Stavba Zethauerských varhan však nebyla snadná - nedostatek stavebního materiálu způsobil odsunutí termínu dokončení. Také inflace způsobila prodražení zakázky a Oehme byl nucen dodatečné náklady uhradit sám. Jeho životní příběh, stejně tak jako Silbermannova varhanní tradice, skončil o rok později ve Freibergu, kde zemřel v chudobě.
