Listen up now, far and near
(it is what they used to do here)
Come for the thrill,
Before the big chill ...
It's the last NoVAGO picnic of the year!

Everyone is invited to join NoVAGO in Vint Hill for our final quarterly event of the year. Regardless of whether you are a long-time cacher or just getting started, local to the area or just visiting ... stop on by!

Schedule:
10:00   Icebreaker and opening
11:00   Silent Auction and Pick-A-Prize kick off
12:00   (or when the crowd is largest) Group Photo
12:00 - 1:00   Lunch, Potluck and grilled items
1:00   Silent Auction closes
1:30   Pick-A-Prize closes
1:30 - 2:00   Closing and announce Pick-A-Prize winners

Silent Auction Information

NoVAGO charges no membership dues, so to help defray the costs of pavilion rentals, website hosting, picnic food, etc. we host a once-a-year large Silent Auction (and this year we will be adding a Pick-A-Prize)! Participation is certainly voluntary. Many items will be up for bid — check the Auction Catalog on our forums to get a taste of what to expect — so plan on bringing some extra cash with you if you'd like to take part. If you would like to donate any items for the auction to help support NoVAGO and its mission, please contact the core at 2014officers @novago.org.

Our picnic lunch will be a potluck event, so please post the dish you'll be bringing in your "Will Attend" log. We'll keep a master list of who is bringing what on the NoVAGO forums. No dish, dessert or drink will get turned away. All food is welcome! Mmm!

Additional Information

• We have the shelter reserved for the entire day! While the event is 10:00 - 2:00, there is lots to see and do in the area afterwards.
• Please note the listed parking coordinates.
• Please keep this event on your watch list and check back often for any updates. More information on the schedule of events will be posted soon.
• Vint Hill was acquired by the U.S. government from a local farmer prior to World War II after someone picked up short wave signals from Berlin. Geologists later determined unique iron ore deposits led to the excellent reception in the area. Vint Hill Farm Station (VHFS) long served as an area for signals operations and intelligence gathering. Pretty cool!
