SideTracked - Elmstead woods JTB's off the rails 2 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

This Cache has been placed to join the ever growing and popular Side tracked series. More information can be found on (www.sidetrackedseries.info).

The name was first recorded in 1320 as Elmsted, ‘the place where elm trees grow’, and the wood was Elmystediswood in 1392. This was part of the Bishop of Rochester’s estate and used to provide timber for shipbuilding.

The railway line from St Johns to Chislehurst was constructed in 1865 and Elmstead was the last station to open – in 1904. The ‘Woods’ addition to the name came four years later, presumably to attract day-trippers. Most of the vicinity was built up in the early 20th century as part of the expansion of Chislehurst.

Check this link below for as local community group who keep this lovely station nice and colorful. http://elmsteadwoodsgardenclub.wordpress.com/

Elmstead Woods railway station is in Elmstead in the London Borough of Bromley in south east London. It is in Travelcard Zone 4, and the station and all trains are operated by Southeastern.

You are looking for a 35mm style pot BYOP please.
