A straightforward multi-cache set around the church in Pentewan. The headline co-ords are for the start point. Please park in the free car park or in The Square, not at the church. You can access the lane to the church via the waypoint given.
The cache is not located within the church grounds.
What to do
Look up at the church. There is a large cross with a number of light bulbs attached to it fixed to the front of the church. For the purpose of this cache, the centre bulb is the bulb located at the point where the horizontal and vertical parts of the cross are joined.
The number of bulbs on the horizontal part of the cross to the left of (but not including) the centre bulb = A.
The number of bulbs from the top of the vertical part of the cross to (and including) the centre bulb = B.
On the ground floor, there are some half-dome niches. These look like windows that have been bricked-up, then scalloped-out!
The number of half-dome niches visible at the front of the church = C.
Finally, look at the arch around the doorway.
The number of curved stones forming the arch above the door = D.
The cache is hidden at:
N50 17.A(A*C)D W004 46.BAA and can be accessed by following the Coast Path to the south of the church
About the Church
The church building was erected in 1821 and was planned to be in the middle of a terrace, but the southern end was never built. It was subsequently closed as a place of worship and used as a carpenter's workshop, but was restored and re-opened as a church in 1878.
