Geocache Description:

Silver Bullet Launch Party

Join us for a potluck brunch by the scenic Merrimack River for a very special event to help guide the Airstream Silver Bullet across the country!

"To keep alive and make real an enduring promise of high adventure and faraway lands... of rediscovering old places and new interests." ~Wally Byam

Event

The potluck brunch and launch party event will be held in the picnic area of the Merrimack River boat launch at the posted coordinates in Bedford, NH. Look for the Airstream trailer parked near the picnic tables. Be sure to post your "will attend" log so we can plan accordingly. If participating in the potluck brunch, also post what you will bring for the potluck. I will provide the coffee. Seating is limited so you might want to pack a lawn chair. Feel free to bring a canoe or kayak as there are a few island caches nearby.

Silver Bullet Launch

Groundspeak, in partnership with Airstream, is releasing 2,000 unactivated, trackable, Airstream Silver Bullet tags at a handful of events across the country in August. Some of these tags will be given away at this event. The trackable tag is designed for those with a penchant to roam, a heart for exploration, and a willingness to Find & Go. The trackables come with a copy tag so you can keep one and send the other on it's way. The promotion slogan is: "Find one and take it someplace incredible, whether it’s a big city or the great outdoors." Visit the Airstream Find & Go page to learn more about the promotion, photo contest, and TB tracking.

Directions

The road to the boat ramp is unpaved so I don't know if it will show up on all GPS units. Here are written instructions, if needed.

  • From Route 93, take the exit for I-293N/NH-101W
  • Keep left to continue on NH-101W
  • Exit onto Kilton Rd toward US-3
  • Turn right onto US-3 S
  • Turn left onto Hawthorne Dr
  • Turn left onto Station Rd
  • Take left onto hard-pack dirt road and follow the road under the highway to the boat ramp
