Geocache Description:

Honoring those who died in the fire of May 11, 1941.

This cache is NOT at the posted coordinates!

The Dreisbach’s Sons Hardware Company Building, located in downtown Lewisburg, caught on fire in May 11, 1941.  The massive blaze required the combined efforts of five fire companies, and cost the lives of two firefighters: Charles Stephens and Charles Liddick.

At the time, this was one of the greatest tragedies of the town’s history. But time moves on, and the building continues to be used.

To solve this cache, type the current street address of this building (without spaces) into geochecker to get the cache GPS coordinates. Or, if you want a small challenge, you could try to solve this cache without GPS coordinates.

Use the photo above, information from the internet, and the hint below (which will make sense once you know where the building is) to find the cache.  It is placed at the location of the fire, along the collapsed wall shown above where Stephens and Liddick were killed in action. There is a plaque nearby to commemorate their sacrifice.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Please note that you MUST sign the logbook. Other logs will be deleted, in accordance with geocaching rules.
