Geocache Description:

In an effort to build geocacher awareness of the historic geocaches in Leelanau County, Michigan, this challenge has been issued.

THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE GIVEN COORDINATES. PLEASE READ THE CACHE PAGE TO SEE LOGGING REQUIREMENTS.

The difficulty and terrain rating are for the challenge; the rating for the actual geocache is D2.0/T1.5. The attributes listed are for the actual geocache. Parking is provided. The road does continue past the coordinates I have listed as parking. Continuing past the parking coordinates will depend on the vehicle you are driving. I did not use the attribute for "Available in the Winter" because the park is not plowed and the cache may or may not be all that winter friendly. Depends on the amount of snow.

In order to claim a find on this challenge, you must find and log five of the current seven oldest existing geocaches in Leelanau County. Once the five geocaches have been found and logged, you may find and log this geocache. The seven current oldest existing geocaches in Leelanau County are:

NOTE: GCJPZN Manitou Meanderings 1, GCJPZW Manitou Meanderings 2, GCJQ00 Manitou Meanderings 3 and GCJQ04 Manitou Meanderings 4 are all placed on the same date, 6/11/2004. Any ONE of these caches will qualify you for this challenge. The Project GC checker seems to pick one or of these when it runs, it may or may not be the one you found. Only fair fix I can come up with is that if you found one of these you need to manually include it as a find.

Here is a list of other old caches that have been archived in Leelanau county. You can substitute one of these caches for one of the caches above and only one. This means you can actually do 4 active caches listed above and one of the archived caches listed below. If you feel I have missed a old cache in this county please let me know and if I agree it will be added.

You may prove you have met the challenge by posting your finds to a public bookmark or by listing your finds in the body of your log on this geocache. Either way, be sure to give the GC Code, geocache name, and date found. This must be done at the time the "Found" log is submitted. Prior finds do count. Please trade fairly for other geocachers. I suggest that you find this challenge sooner than later. This challenge could end up that you have to go to Manitou Island to qualify for this cache. As the next 3 caches are on the island also.
