O "Mirante do Jaguaré, ou o "Relógio do Jaguaré", erroneamente lembrado como o "Farol do Jaguaré" (por conta de sua arquitetura), está intimamente ligado à história do bairro fundado em 1935 por Henrique Dumont Villares, sobrinho de Santos Dumont. O Jaguaré foi uma das poucas áreas da cidade que contou com planejamento urbanístico - dividido em áreas residenciais, comerciais e industriais, foram construídas 42 praças e também casas para os funcionários da S.A. Imobiliária Jaguaré. A torre do relógio foi erguida como um símbolo para o bairro, situada no ponto mais alto, com vista panorâmica para vários pontos de São Paulo. A deterioração do relógio também está ligada à decadência do bairro, a partir da década de 1980, com a saída e o fechamento de inúmeras fábricas. Esta situação está pouco a pouco se revertendo graças aos novos acessos a algumas das principais rodovias do Estado. Com 28m de altura, o "Farol do Jaguaré" foi construído em 1943, após uma visita do arquiteto Henrique Dumont Villares à Holanda, que se encantou com um semelhante. Em 2004, foi tombado pelo Conselho Municipal de Preservação do Patrimônio Histórico. Atualmente encontra-se abandonado pelo poder público, acabou se deteriorando. Parabéns ao Laferre pelo FTF!
