Geocache Description:

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. Its a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website.


A level of stealth will be required as this location is very busy at times, especially after trains arrive. The cache contains only a log so please bring a writing implement.

Darlington Station

Darlington Station

Darlington railway station (also known as Darlington Bank Top) is on the East Coast Main Line 232 miles north of the London Kings Cross Terminus and serves the town of Darlington and much of the surrounding area. The station is the connecting point for services to Sunderland and is served by cross country services to the south west and trans pennine services.to Manchester It is also the connection point of the Bishop Line run by which runs to Bishop Auckland west of the town and Saltburn in the East following much of the former Darlington & Stockton line which was the first passenger line in the world, although this station is situated a short detour awy from the line.

The station itself is a Grade II listed Victorian structure bult by William Bell and features a large clock tower on the Western side of the building.
