Come and join Wemnog and myself for our pirate event on the River Trent at Stoke Bardolph
Please note, the coordinates for this event are in the middle of the river.
The event will begin on the river at midday and continue until around 2.00pm
Officially, you do need a licence to use a boat on the river, this has been mentioned to some attendees already. Please contact me for details of how to obtain one. Price for a day licence for unpowered craft is £2.66
I suggest that you arrive at around 11.30 to prepare. There is a nearby free car park and additional parking is available at the side of the road. There is a slipway to help with easy launching if you are using a boat for this event.
At midday we will blow a whistle and it will be time for you to come out on to the river and join us for some fun. When everyone who wants to participate is with us we will fire out some cannon balls (pots) which are yours to keep. They make ideal caching pots.
Please note that rivers can be dangerous places and I would advise that you wear a buoyancy aid in case you get in to difficulty.
We will be in a powered boat to help anyone who does get in to difficulties.
Given the name of the event, it would be fun if you arrived dressed as a pirate, although this is, of course, optional.
The event will take place whatever the weather and there is every liklihood that you will get wet at some point, so a change of clothes is also advisable.
