Getting there: From the village of Safe Harbor, travel River Road south to Green Hill Road. Take Green Hill, continuing past a few turns, and park on either side of the tunnel; be sure not to block the road. (On busy days, it may be possible to park one line of cars inside the tunnel.) Locate a climbers’ trail, beginning from the uphill side of the tunnel, and follow it for 150 yards to gain the rail trail. Turn right and hike for about 10 minutes to reach the Blood Sugar Magic sector. The other sectors are another 5 to 15 minutes. When you are heading home go back out the way you came in. This dirt road is not maintained well and gets very bumpy past the bridge.
This geocache is placed along a popular sport climb at safe harbor. This is a 5.8+ climb that will require a lead climb and top rope. The rocks here at safe harbor are bolted for spot climbing. The cache should be obvious when you get to the top. Be sure to take in the view of the river from the top!
In order to get credit for this cache YOU MUST SIGN THE LOG!!! Simply spotting the cache or where it might be is not a find. I reserve the right to remove finds if the logbook is not signed. The cache is stocked with a few writing implements. Might want to bring a pen with just incase.
Because I climb here quite often I will be adding prizes often. Have fun!!!
Congrats to flaffle and CacheSking for FTF!!!!!
