Church Micro 5983 ... Normanton On Soar
This is the pretty church of St James in the lovely village of Normanton On Soar.
This is a medieval church built circa 1140's and it is situated right on the east bank of the river soar and is well known in the area as a boatmans church. the church is an ancient building wuth the tower in the centre, surmounted by a lofty spire which is 96 feet high. It has a large chancel and a capacious font which was probably used in the times when it was the practice to dip the infant at baptism.
