Shildon Station

Shildon Station

Shildon railway station is on the former Stockton and Darlington Railway in North East England and serves the town of Shildon in County Durham.  The line is now incorporated in the 'Bishop Line' which runs from Darlington to Bishop Auckland following much of the route of the original Darlington & Stockton railway, the first passenger line in the world.

Based close to the station is Locomotion, a museum which includes many of the buildings used by Timothy Hackworth, one of the pioneers of railways as well as a large collection from the National Railway Museum.
