Parque Eólico do Alto dos Forninhos Traditional Geocache

O Alto dos Forninhos, na vertente sul da Serra de S. Mamede, foi o local escolhido para instalar o primeiro parque eólico do distrito de Portalegre.

As obras de instalação do parque começaram em meados de Novembro de 2013, com a criação dos acessos, linha elétrica, fundações dos aerogeradores e central de controlo do parque.

O parque eólico funciona com 4 aerogeradores e  permite o fornecimento de energia equivalente a uma grande parte do consumo da cidade de Portalegre, embora a energia seja 'injetada' na rede para depois ser distribuída.

Começou a funcionar em pleno no mês de Maio de 2014 depois de terem sido instalados os 4 aerogeradores que tiveram a sua instalação dificuldada pelas más condições climatéricas do inverno de 2014.
