Expressed as a decimal, the digits of pi never end or repeat, but continue endlessly in a seemingly random sequence. In his science fiction novel Contact, Carl Sagan imagined that some unfathomable cosmic intelligence had hidden a message deep within the digits of pi. An outlandish idea, wouldn't you say? Or is it?
